13 Abr. IRE. C & L.L. Gladness S. G3. Curragh. 7f. Turf. 70.000 €
1.- JUMBAJUKIBA (F.Berry)
2.- MAJOR CADEAUX (R.Hughes)
3.- US RANGER (J.Murtagh)

US Ranger fluffed his lines yesterday as Jessica Harrington's Jumbajukiba recorded an all-the-way success in the Castlemartin & La Louverie Studs Gladness Stakes at the Curragh.

The Aidan O'Brien-trained market leader, sent off at 4-5 under Johnny Murtagh, never threatened seriously and was well beaten in third. In contrast Fran Berry enjoyed an armchair ride up front on the 12-1 winner, as he accounted for British raider Major Cadeaux by three and a half lengths.

"We decided to make the running because he stays a mile. Fran said the horse was fresh and pulled hard in early stages and began to get tired late on, but he was entitled to in this ground," said Harrington.

"We have entered him in a Group Three here and at Leopardstown and we will keep running him while the ground stays soft. Maybe we will give him a break then for the autumn."

As for US Ranger, the Ballydoyle supremo commented: "Johnny said the horse tired at halfway and needed the run. We were thinking of the Lockinge, but we may have to have a rethink."
