13 Abr. FR. Prix la Force. G3. Longchamp. 2.000 mts. Turf. 80.000 €
1.- HIGH ROCK (C.Lemaire)
2.- SALSALAVIE (O.Peslier)
3.- WATAR (D.Bonilla)

Outstanding young sire Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) featured in France at the weekend when his three year- old colt High Rock scored a dominant victory in the Group Three Prix la Force at Longchamp.

Taking his overall record to three wins from four starts, High Rock raced right away to win the mile and a quarter contest by six lengths.

He sat just off the pace and when given his head in the straight bounded away in what was considered a most impressive trial for the Classics.

“The horse was keen today because he was very fresh as I hadn’t given him too much preparatory work for this first run of the year,” explained trainer Jean-Claude Rouget.

“He has class and talent and proved it once again today. I’m sure his best trip will be at around a mile-and-a-quarter so we can now think about the Prix du Jockey-Club [at Chantilly June 1].”

Rider Christophe Lemaire said: "He must be quite something to have pulled so much and then quicken in such style. I did my best to hold him but had to let him go early in the straight."

Bred by Ecure Skymarc Farm, High Rock is raced by Robert Bousquet, and is a half-brother to Group Three winner Homeland and stakes-winner Hideaway from the Alysheba mare Hint of Silver, whose next dam is by Nureyev.
